Why VCU EM? VCU EM has access to an incredibly diverse patient population encompassing some of the sickest patients transferred in from all around the state of Virginia. I wanted a residency program that had complex etiologies and high volume to prepare myself for anything that walks through the door once I am practicing independently. I have a personal interest in fellowship after residency and, with a variety of EM fellowships, this program provides access to an impressive faculty of ultrasound, toxicology, EMS, and other sub-field specialists to help me explore my own career trajectory. I also love the city of Richmond, so that was icing on the cake.
Favorite thing to do in RVA? Playing volleyball at Richmond Volleyball Club.
Best-kept RVA secret? Dr. Moffett's backyard, which he has so graciously made open 24/7 to all VCU patients and staff.
