Why VCU EM? Coming back home to Richmond was an important part of choosing a residency program for me. I grew up shadowing and volunteering at VCU so I got to see first-hand the level of care and knowledge the faculty and staff here have.
My favorite thing to do in RVA is hang out by the James River/Belle Isle. I grew up swimming, kayaking, and playing in it. It’s both peaceful to sit by and a fun way to stay active when the weather is nice.
Best kept RVA secret? I think the best Thai restaurant that no one’s ever heard of is a place on Staples Mill called Tip Thai. Small mom and pop shop with truly the best Thai food in Richmond. The spicier you get it, the better the flavor gets.
