Why VCU EM? I chose emergency medicine because I love the fast pace, the opportunity to care for undifferentiated patients, and the fact that no two shifts are the same. VCU stood out to me because of the opportunity to train in a busy, high-acuity environment with a diverse patient population while living in a city with plenty to explore outside the hospital.
Favorite thing to do in RVA? One of my favorite things to do in Richmond is explore new neighborhoods and find new spots to eat. There are so many great restaurants and coffee shops around the city, and it has been fun getting to know the extensive food scene.
Best-kept RVA secret? RVA Pieces, the local chess organization. It is casual, welcoming, and has been a great way to meet people in Richmond outside the hospital.
