Why VCU EM: I’m originally from RVA and have always been familiar with the VCU Health System. During application season, I tried my best to find a program that could rival the awesomeness of the leadership, resources, and patient population, and simply couldn’t despite my best efforts. If you want to exit residency being incredibly capable and well-versed in the specialty, you pick VCU EM.
Favorite thing to do in RVA: I love running the Virginia Capital Trail! It is a well-maintained bike/run trail that is over 50 miles long and goes right through RVA.
Best kept RVA secret: Gotta check out all the action near the James River. Belle’s Isle and Pony Pasture are great scenic spots for all the nature lovers!
