Why VCU EM? I was able to do an M4 rotation at VCU and loved everything about the program. The program has an incredibly well-rounded, resident focused curriculum paired with a very diverse and complex patient population at a huge tertiary trauma center. But, most importantly, the residents and faculty all took time to teach me and make me feel like part of the team the entire time I was here. That really stuck with me as I made my way through rotation and interview season.

Favorite thing to do in RVA? Play pickleball at the numerous indoor and outdoor facilities around the city. There’s a very large and welcoming pickleball community in the Richmond area.

Best-kept RVA secret? The Brandermill neighborhood is the best kept secret in the Richmond area. It’s only about 20 minutes from the hospital/downtown and is surrounded by everything you could possibly want or need. However, it feels very secluded because it’s densely wooded and offers all the ‘suburban’ amenities you may not get living downtown.
