Why VCU EM: Ultimately, I chose it because I felt great about the people and work environment when I interviewed here. VCU was already high on my list because the program offers a ton of high-quality learning experiences and a diverse patient population in a very established academic medical center. Also, because Richmond is a fun and eclectic city with a surprising amount of outdoor recreation in and around town.
Favorite thing to do in RVA: Trail runs along the James River.
Best kept RVA secret: The James River trail system is incredible and allows for biking, climbing, running/hiking, swimming and paddling literally in the city.
Fun fact: When I was doing med school prereqs in Asheville, NC, I worked in a small chocolate factory where I helped to make tons of chocolate.
