Why VCU EM: VCU has everything I am looking for in an Emergency Medicine Residency Program. High acuity, diverse patient cases, a track program to explore niche interests, a curriculum heavy on Ultrasound and ICU rotations. Beyond the didactic and clinical environment the residents seem to be happy and well supported by the program. The Program Director Dr. Moll went above and beyond allowing me to tour the program before the application process even began and I was blown away by the ED and the Trauma bay. I got great vibes from everyone on interview day and the pre-interview resident happy hour. Beyond excited to spend the next three years training in Richmond.

Favorite thing to do in RVA: I have only been to Richmond twice, but from what I can tell the food scene will not disappoint. I am excited to explore the city more and check out all restaurants and micro breweries.

Best kept RVA secret: I stumbled upon Maymont Nature Park which I’m sure will be worth a few more visits. Spent an afternoon there and didn’t come close to making it through all of the animal or nature exhibits.

Fun fact: I have an identical twin brother.
