Christopher M. Woleben, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Division and currently serves as the interim Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education and Student Affairs at VCU School of Medicine.  Prior to his current role, he served as Associate Dean for Student Affairs for the past 12 years.

Dr. Woleben currently oversees the undergraduate medical education program at VCU School of Medicine while continuing his work with medical student advising and support.  His passion centers on medical student professional identity development and residency match advising.  He currently serves as the Chair for the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) Advisory Board providing feedback to enhance the residency application process for both applicants and program directors.  His residency advising strategies for monitoring student interview offers was released by the AAMC as part of a toolkit to enhance career advising strategies for all medical schools.

Dr. Woleben is proud to have completed both his medical education and residency training in Pediatrics here at VCU School of Medicine.  He is a member of the VCU School of Medicine Admissions Executive Committee, serves as advisor for the Medicine for Pride student interest group, and is a past recipient of the VCU Presidential Award for Community Multicultural Enrichment for administrators.
