Why VCU EM: I wanted to try something new outside of Florida and with my grandparents living in Virginia most of my life, I've always been attracted to Virginia. I wanted a program at a Level 1 Trauma center where I would get exposed to the most things possible to set me up for success. I also wanted a program with lots of fellowships to give me exposure to the all the possibilities EM has to offer!

Favorite thing to do in RVA: Looking at the leaves changing in the fall. We have had fun as a family going on walks by the river, trying out new restaurants, going to museums (the science museum is our favorite) and most recently going to Busch Gardens! We are still exploring all the things there are to do here!

Best kept RVA secret: You can get to downtown from the suburbs in 15-20 minutes of easy driving. It's really easy to drive around and find exactly the type of neighborhood you'd like and still be a short commute from the hospital.

Fun fact: I grew up at Disney World and have probably been over 1000 times in my lifetime so far!
