Why VCU EM: The sheer volume of sick, medically complex patients provides great learning opportunities, which are greatly enhanced by attendings that care about clinical teaching and do it well. Above all else, the culture and atmosphere make it a fun environment in which to train. I knew it would be hard work but never in my life would I have imagined residency would be this much fun!
Favorite thing to do in RVA: Run by the river and check out all the amazing things to see and do in and around Richmond
Best kept RVA secret: Pony Pasture nature trails (though I'm not sure it's much of a secret)
Fun fact: I've lived in Spain, Argentina, and China in between college and med school, among others...and I've been on The Price is Right!
